Tuscaloosa City, AL: A renowned Indian-origin doctor Ramesh Peramsetty was reportedly shot dead in Tuscaloosa city of Alabama, on August 23. A native of Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district, Peramsetty used to operate several hospitals in the USA. Additionally, Dr Ramesh Peramsetty is credited with establishing the Crimson Care Network and was the medical director of the organisation, according to news report.
The 63-year-old doctor, who practiced as a physician in Tuscaloosa, died on the spot. He was revered for his significant contributions to healthcare. His efforts were recognised and a street in Tuscaloosa was named in Dr Peramsetty’s honour.
Dr. Peramsetty’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the community, particularly among those who knew him as a dedicated healthcare provider and philanthropist. The Crimson Care Network expressed their grief in a heartfelt statement, requesting privacy for Dr. Peramsetty’s family during this difficult time.
In 1986, Dr Ramesh Peramsetty graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College and specialised in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine, according to Wedmed. He held 38 years of medical experience and was involved in philanthropic activities as well. He played crucial role during the Covid-19 pandemic and was honoured with several accolades.
He donated ₹ 14 lakh to Menakuru High School in Andhra Pradesh where he studied and also for the construction of a Sai temple in his village, according to reports.
