Victory satisfies Smith

South Africa captain Graeme Smith was pleased that his side managed to do just enough to secure victory against the West Indies on May 24.

Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis set the tourists on their way to a total of 300 in the 50-over contest at North Sound in Antigua.

The Proteas were given a scare when lower-order batsman Darren Sammy fired 58 from just 24 balls, clearing the boundary six times.

But the hosts ran out of wickets leaving South Africa to take a workmanlike 17-run win and take a 2-0 lead in the five-match one-day series.
