UK’s oldest couple ties knot

London: It’s never too late to fall in love — a couple in Britain, aged 97 and 87, is said to have scripted history by becoming the oldest to get married.

According to Daily Express, Henry Kerr, who is just three years shy of his 100th birthday, and his bride  Valerie Berkowitz, are now UK’s oldest newlyweds, with a combined age of 184.

They fell in love when Valerie joined Henry’s poetry reading circle, and discovered they had mutual friends from their time living in South Africa. Valerie was a teacher in Johannesburg, while Henry had managed 200 cinemas.

They tied the knot in a ceremony at the residential home where they live in London. Both were married before — Valerie for over 70 years and Henry for over 60. And both have children who live in America.
