TV becomes the battle field for stars

Actors and actresses are more than willing to appear on television screen rather than silver screen. Even tinsel town divas like Madhuri Dixit, Urmila, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon are making a coming back on TV and not on films.

Cash crunch is a biting reality and the lure of great bucks on television is actually attracting lot of Bollywood  big shots to television. Television has now become the new battle field and Bollywood big shots like Shah Rukh Khan,  Ajay Devgn, and Priyanka Chopra have joined the television bandwagon.

Some are joining television as TV anchors or judges, while others are joining it as production. The Devgns, Ghai’s and Yashraj have already joined Television production.

There’s a new tussle between Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar for Fear Factor. While Akshay is known as the martial hero of Bollywood, Ajay too loves action-oriented stuffs. While their professional rivalry is known to everyone as  Ajay thought that Akshay has tampered with his roles in Khakee, the fight has now gone to a next level with the same TV series.

Salman and Shah Rukh’s rivalry is known to everybody and with Shah Rukh’s Zor Ka Jhatka getting really low TRPs, the competition and the criticism has gone stronger. Salman’s Bigg Boss 4 has really rocked the TRP chart which makes him a better contender in TV world.

Amitabh is the reigning man in the TV world as he hosts the Crorepati season with elan and panache and nobody dare beat him in his race.

It started way back when Nair as he roped in Amiatbh Bachchan. Other stars have followed the suit. Channels rope in stars as they can grab eyeballs, while stars can fill their kitty with mega bucks. So, television and not Bollywood is the new competitive market for our stars.
