Patna, Oct 26 (IANS) RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday said that BJP will be wiped out in Bihar in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, apart from one seat of Patna.

Addressing a gathering at the Congress state headquarters, Sadakat Ashram, he said: “After the caste survey, it is clear that they (BJP) has only one per cent votes in Bihar. I was talking to a leader of Jan Sangh and he said that apart from Patna Lok Sabha seat, BJP is not going to win anywhere in Bihar.

“We are fighting for social justice in the country and Rahul Gandhi adopted its flag. He said that if we came into power in the country in 2024, we will conduct a caste based census in the entire country. The power will be distributed as per the social justice.”

The event was to mark the 136 birth anniversary of Bihar’s first Chief Minister Sri Krishna Singh, popularly known as Sri Babu.

The celebration of Sri Krishna Singh’s birth anniversary is also a bid by the Congress in Bihar to lure the voters of upper caste, especially his Bhumihar caste.

State Congress chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh said: “When I was elected a first-time MLA in 2000, Lalu Prasad Yadav made me cabinet minister in Bihar. He suggested that we celebrate the birth anniversary of Sri Babu and we are doing it. Lalu Ji is known for social justice in the country. He is healthy and he takes on the BJP in Bihar and the country.

“BJP is targeting its political opponents like Lalu Prasad Yadav through several raids. They raided Rajasthan CM Ashok Gahlot’s son on Thursday. This is the working style of BJP and it will end in 2024.”
