‘Sanju’ worldwide box-office collection

Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt’s biopic which is titled ‘ Sanju’ has emerged as a winner not only in the domestic circuit but even worldwide as the film has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in the first weekend itself which has taken the Rajkumar Hirani directorial on the third position in the highest weekend grosser. The most awaited film of the year emerged the number one commercial hit of 2018, leaving behind all other hits.
Ranbir Kapoor can be seen essaying the titular role of Sanjay in the film alongside Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Jim Sarbh, who are seen playing significant roles in the ‘Sanju’.
‘Sanju’ has collected Rs 202 crore approximately worldwide with a collection of $2.5 million in the United States and Canada, $1.8 million in the Gulf, $650,000 in Australia and $600,000 in the United Kingdom. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial has done a good collection in Pakistan as it collected nearly $800k.
Sanjay Dutt said, “There is no advice for Ranbir Kapoor. He is doing a fantastic job. Whatever I have seen on the sets of the movie, it is really great. I just wish him all the best and I am looking forward to watching the movie.”
Talking about why Sanjay isn’t a part of the film, Dia Mirza who plays the role of Maanayata Dutt in ‘Sanju’ said that it would be awkward to see Sanjay Dutt featured as himself in his biopic and plus he is very shy about the biopic itself.
