Sania Mirza Loses In Wrexham ITF Final

Sania Mirza has stumbled in the finals of the Wrexham ITF event as she lost 2-6, 4-6 to local favourite Heather Watson on Sunday.

The Indian tennis ace did well in all the rounds by defeating the lower ranked opponents.

Interestingly, the top seed Sania lost the summit clash to fourth seed Watson, who is 121 placed below the Indian at 252.

This would have been Saniaโ€™s second title in Wrexham. She had won the title in 2004.

Earlier, Sania had also lost the finals of the doubles event of the USD 25,000 tournament in Great Britain.

Top seeds Sania and Emma Laine had lost the final 6-2 3-6 11-13 to unseeded pair of Tara Moore and Francesca Stephenson.
