‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ premiere: Bollywood and cricket stars in attendance

Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar, the name is enough to give you feels. He is the God of Cricket, and this tag is self-explanatory to what the former Indian captain is to the game and his devoted fans. And Sachin Tendulkar is ready to enthrall us once again, this time by bringing his iconic life on the silver screen. His biopic, Sachin: A Billion Dreams is all set to hit theatres on May 26, 2017. A special screening was held in Mumbai, and the premier saw attendance from Bollywood biggies to Team India members. The lucky ones who got to watch film ahead of a worldwide release are tweeting the movie reviews and Sachin: A Billion Dreams is getting a roaring reception. After the release of magnum opus Bahubali 2 movie and continuous success story of Aamir Khan’s Dangal in the foreign shores, Indian film industry has another exciting offering for the cinephiles. It is the release of Sachin –The Billion Dreams, a docu-drama based on the life of the biggest ambassador of the game – Sachin Tendulkar. Written and directed by James Erskine, the film is creating a string buzz ahead of the movie’s release.
It is not a regular film which usually releases every Friday, and the fans will not decide to catch up the film based on movie reviews. Such is the dominance of Sachin Tendulkar, and his fandom is helping film critics and trade analysts give the box office prediction of Sachin: The Billion Dreams. They feel the film will hit the jackpot, especially after seeing the tsunami of appreciation coming from the first movie reviews.
The screening saw the entire Indian cricket team turn up for the event. While star cricketers M.S. Dhoni, Virat Kohli, who came with his actress girlfriend Anushka Sharma, Yuvraj Singh all posed with Sachin Tendulkar, it was the star-lit young members of the team who could stop writing praises about the film. Indian opening batsman K.L. Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan were among the first ones to tweet about loving the film to the core.
Batsman Ajinkya Rahane and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar were awe-struck seeing the inspirational journey of Sachin Tendulkar. Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle, former Indian Test batsman V.V.S. Laxman and BCCI CEO Rahul Johri also tweeted about watching the greatest cricketer’s biopic and loving it tremendously.
