PM Modi takes Metro ride to Dwarka event

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 20 took commuters on the Delhi Metro by surprise when he traveled by the public transport system to reach Dwarka in south-west Delhi. Reports said the PM took the Airport Express Metro from Dhaula Kuan station and traveled till Dwarka Sector-21 Metro Station. PM Modi was en route to the India International Convention and Expo Center (IICC) foundation stone laying ceremony event in Dwarka.
Later, after laying the foundation stone of the IICC building, PM Modi said the facility will emerge as a center of attitude and energy of the youth.
β€œThis project worth Rs 26,000 crores will emerge as a center of attitude and energy of 80 crore youths. It’s not just a convention and expo center but vibrant center for domestic and international business,” PM Modi said.
β€œIt will be like a mini city within Delhi. In one single campus, there will be a convention hall, an expo hall, a meeting hall, hotels, market, offices and several other facilities,” the PM added.
It is not the first time that PM Modi has taken the Metro in Delhi. In July this year, PM Modi and his visiting South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in had taken the Metro to travel to the Samsung plant in Noida. The two leaders had inaugurated a Samsung mobiles plant in Noida.
