Panneerselvam says he was forced to resign from TN Chief Minister’s post

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam on February 7 night said he was forced to resign from the post.

He said he would withdraw his resignation if people, party men and MLAs wanted it

At the end of a politically charged day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam stole the limelight as he sat in meditation at MGR Memorial on Marina, where late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa was buried.

Paneerselvam, who had submitted his resignation to the Governor to pave the way for party general secretary V.K. Sasikala to be the chief minister and is continuing in the post till the next government is sworn in, reached the memorial around 9pm.

He sat down in front of Jayalalithaa’s burial site and closed his eyes. His meditative pose continued for around 40 minutes, leaving his security detail and party workers clueless.
