Folkestone: Frenchman Philippe Croizon, whose arms and legs had to be amputated following an electrical accident, successfully completed his attempt to swim the English Channel. The 42-year-old set off from Folkestone in Kent and finished the 34-km journey using prosthetic legs. He had three dolphins swimming alongside him for a brief period.
