Making the first move!

Dozens of James Bond movies but not a single Bollywood actress to romance him. How sad!
Probably that’s because of Indian culture, which deters a shy demure girl from making the first move. But not anymore. And all thanks to the directors who are “scripting” the evolving woman and of course, the actresses, who don’t mind these scripts.

Take for instance Deepika Padukone in Karthik Calling Karthik. She brazenly came on to Farhan Akhtar and wanted him to take advantage of her. She totally didn’t mind making the first move.

Let’s take a look at which other actresses have done the same in the recent past…

Priyanka Chopra in Kaminey

What can you say about a girl who practically cons her lover into marrying her through a sly mix of threats and tears? Wile or wise? Probably both. But that’s a new-age woman for you! She’s someone, who doesn’t mind calling the shots in a relationship… to wear the pants or make the first move to get into one. Wink, wink.

Mahi Gill in Dev D

If Mahi Gill’s character is anything to go by then say goodbye to the days when the hero had to sing a song and serenade his heroine just to give him a kiss. Mahi doesn’t need the gifts or the praises and all the other romantic things from a man… she’s happy with needing just a man!!

Neha Dhupia in Raat Gayi Baat Gayi

How can an actress who has made statements like “Only SRK and sex sells in this industry” be far behind in choosing some bold scripts. If in Sheesha she soaked herself in water and wore skimpy clothes to entice Sonu Sood, in Raat Gayi, she brashly plays a woman-on-top character, who gets straight to the point without any hanky-panky! No beating around the bush for this lady!

Kangana Ranaut in Woh Lamhe

Kangana’s character Sana knows she is downright sexy and has no qualms in displaying that. Sana not only makes the first move but she doesn’t mind throwing herself on a man she loves and lusts after. Now that’s what we call the bold and the beautiful.

Bipasha Basu in Jism

Bips needs no introduction when it comes to bold… ness. In this movie, she tantalizes a man while deceiving another! While prudes may call that petty sleaze, we call it sassy tease!
