Lalu Prasad hits back, says ‘Nitish Kumar has murder taint on him, colluding with BJP’

New Delhi: RJD chief Lalu Prasad on July 26 unleashed an offensive against Nitish Kumar, shortly after the JD(U) leader tendered his resignation as Bihar chief minister.
Stating that Nitish Kumar was charged in a murder case, defiant Lalu accused the JD(U) leader of colluding with the BJP.
“Nitish Kumar knew that he is accused of section 302, one of India’s Chief Minister is main accused in murder and arms case,” Lalu said while addressing a press conference in Patna.
Citing Prime Minister Modi’s tweet appreciating Nitish Kumar’s stand on corruption, Lalu accused the former of being hand in gloves with the BJP and the RSS.
“The setting is done with the BJP and the RSS. This was proved when the Prime Minister was quick to congratulate him for his fight against corruption. If Nitish doesn’t plan to join hands with the BJP, let him agree to a meeting of all MLAs of the alliance and choose a new leader,” Lalu said.
“As the largest party in the state, RJD should now be given an opportunity to form the government,” the RJD chief said.
Clarifying on the crisis that started after CBI charged him and his son in a corruption case, Lalu said that he had told Nitish Kumar that the charges were false and politically motivated.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he stepped down in the interest of the state after failing to resolve a crisis plaguing the ruling Grand Alliance.
