JAMSHEDPUR: Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president Ajoy Kumar on May 31 described the byelection results in the state as “victory of democracy” and “defeat of arrogant government”.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which was supported by the Congress and other opposition parties, on May 31, retained both Silli and Gomia assembly seats in the by-election.
People have voted for opposition alliance over BJP in the byelection, he said.
The JPCC chief claimed that the grand alliance of opposition parties in Jharkhand would win the next assembly election and also the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state in 2019 general election.
