INS Tabar enters France, to conduct bilateral exercise with French Navy

INS Tabar, which entered Port of Brest in France earlier this week, is all set to participate in an exercise with a French Navy warship.
It reached the French port as part of its ongoing overseas deployment on 12 July.
On departure from port, INS Tabar will participate in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with French Navy warship FNS Aquitaine, a statement of the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
The ship was received by a Ceremonial Guard of the French Navy on arrival in Port.
India’s Ambassador to France and Monaco, Jawed Ashraf visited the ship and appreciated the ship’s crew for their contribution to India’s maritime security and in furthering defence cooperation with friendly foreign countries.
The Commanding Officer accompanied by the Indian Defence Adviser called on Vice Admiral Olivier Lebas, Commander of Atlantic Maritime Region (CECLANT) at his Headquarters in Prefecture Maritime Fort, Brest.
The ship dressed overall on the occasion of the Bastille Day (national day of France), as per naval custom.
On 13 June, Indian Naval Ship Tabar commenced her prolonged deployment and is expected to visit a number of ports in Africa and Europe till end-September.
INS Tabar will operate in conjunction with the friendly navies, so as to build military relations and develop interoperability by making port calls and participate in joint exercises with the navies of Africa, Europe and Russia.
Earlier, INS Tabar undertook a Maritime Partnership Exercise with ITS Antonio Marceglia (F 597), a frontline frigate of the Italian Navy in the Tyrrhenian Sea on 4-5 July.
INS Tabar also visited the port of Alexandria in Egypt in June, where it undertook a maritime partnership exercise at sea with the Egyptian Navy Ship Toushka.
