India-born film editor Tariq Anwar in Oscar race


New Delhi: India-born British film editor Tariq Anwar is in the Oscar race with a nomination for his work in the hugely popular historical drama The King’s Speech.

This is his second nomination for the prestigious award. In 1999, he was nominated for American Beauty.

Raised in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Tariq has been working as a film editor in Britain for more than two decades and has worked on films like The Good Shepherd and Sylvia.

Tariq won two BAFTA awards for Oppenheimer and American Beauty.
