India A beat England XI by six wickets in warm-up match

Mumbai: India A avenged their loss in the first practice match as they beat the visiting England XI team by six wickets in the second warm-up match in Mumbai.

Under pressure batsman Ajinkya Rahane, who captained the Indian A side struck a much needed 91 to help the team reach the 283-run target in 39.4 overs. Middle-order batsman Suresh Raina smashed 45, while Rishabh Pant, who has been selected for the first time for India for the T20Is against England scored 59.

Earlier, the visiting team, which was bowled out in 48.5 overs posted a total of 282 riding on fifties from Alex Hales (51) and Jonny Bairstow (64). Kashmiri all-rounder Parvez Rasool was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he picked three wickets for 38.
