New York: For internationally certified and practising clinical nutritionist Gayatri Dave who consults clients across India and Indians living in different parts of the world, pageantry was never a part of her life plan. After winning ‘Ms. Queen of The World India’ in October last year, Gayatri had her sights set on the international finale starting today. The finale ceremony is scheduled for April 25, 2024 to be held at Symphony Space Theatre in NYC. She will be competing with contestants from several other countries and is poised to leave an indelible mark on the world stage.

As a part-time fashion model, she did a photoshoot at the beginning of last year and her pictures garnered much praise. A school friend of hers suggested she explore pageants; even though she initially dismissed the idea thinking she didn’t fit the popular criteria. However, after some contemplation and online exploration, she stumbled upon an individual training institute for modeling and pageantry.

Despite not fitting in the typical Miss or Mrs. category, her mentor and national pageant director Urmimala Boruah encouraged her to participate assuring her that age and height weren’t hindrances anymore. Gayatri pursued her new calling by participating and winning in the ‘MS.’ category which is for single women above 30 years of age. Why should any tag or age criteria deter anyone from pursuing their dreams? Today it brings her immense pride to be at this juncture in her life to get a chance to represent India at ‘Queen of the World International’ 2024 finale under the mentorship of Alice Lee Giannetta, Founder, CEO of the pageant. In representing India on a global stage, she embodies the rich cultural tapestry of her homeland along with shouldering the hopes and aspirations of a nation.

Says Gayatri, “I staunchly believe that every woman should stand tall for her beliefs, even if it means standing alone. Through my journey, I hope to embody the spirit of empowerment and encourage women everywhere to write their own narratives of strength, resilience and unapologetic self-love”
