Bashir Pathan heads Gandhinagar bureau of India Tribune

Chicago: Bashir Pathan, a journalist with 30 years of experience, has joined India Tribune as its bureau chief in Gandhinagar, the state capital of Gujarat. He is also the principal correspondent of Indian Express.

Bashir Pathan has covered almost every aspect of life and times in Gujarat for the past 30 years. Some of the key events he has covered include the Kandla cyclone, the Bhuj earthquake, the 2002 riots, transition of political clout from the Congress Party to BJP during the early nineties, rebellion within the BJP ranks led by Shankersingh Vaghela, sideling of Keshubhai Patel, and consolidation of power by Narendra Modi.

Bashir Pathan has also covered all assembly and Lok Sabha elections since 1990, traveling extensively across the state.
