Mumbai, Aug 24 (IANS) Actor and producer Anjali Patil has talked about the world premiere of her film “Selvi” at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.

She called it a significant milestone for the entire team. Anjali said they are “incredibly proud” of the film’s international debut. She shared, “As an actor and producer, Selvi became my way of reclaiming creative independence for stories that need patience to be told. It’s a personal, intimate observation of the ordinary people in healthcare who spend their lives caring for others, even as their own lives quietly wither. Premiering at Busan is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. We would be bringing Selvi back home, to the people to whom it truly belongs.”

Writer Sailesh added, “Selvi is about a woman moving through an ordinary day. I wanted the film to move with her, to stay close to her life without explaining it or asking it to mean more than it already does.”

“Selvi,” led and produced by National Award-winning actress Anjali Patil, is set to have its world premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival. The film will premiere in the Vision – Asia section of the festival, scheduled to take place from October 6 to 15, 2026. “Selvi” is Co-Produced by the Red Sea Fund, a Red Sea International Film Festival initiative, and is supported by Hong Kong Asia Film Financing. “Selvi” is produced by Anjali Patil under her production banner, Anahat Films, which she founded in 2021. The banner is committed to bringing meaningful stories to Indian and global audiences, with a diverse slate spanning both fiction and non-fiction projects.

Its previous projects include “The Moogai,” which premiered at Sundance in 2023, and “Baksho Bondi,” which was showcased at the Berlinale in 2025. Selvi marks Anahat Films’ first full-length Tamil feature.
