Amway sets Rs. 2500 cr. sales target by 2012


Coimbatore: Amway, one of the leading direct selling Fast Moving Consumer Goods Group (FMCG) companies, has set a sales turnover of Rs. 2500 crore in India by 2012, a company official said on March 24.
The company, with its year on year growth rate of 25  percent, had a turnover of Rs.1,407 crore in 2009, with Tamil Nadu alone contributing Rs.257 crore and the Rs. 2,500 crore target was  easily achievable, the company’s senior Vice-President, Rajeneesh Chopra, told reporters here.
Amway has a set a sales target of Rs. 350 crore in 2010 in Tamil Nadu and growing by 13 to 15 percent annually, the State would contribute a major chunk as usual, with other States expected to catch up, he said.
With 85 percent of the 115 products being manu- factured in Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, particularly Nutritious products, which constituted 55 percent, the company has invested Rs. 55 crore recently, Chopra said.
