2 DMK workers die of heart attack after hearing about Karunanidhi’s death

Two DMK cadres lost their lives after hearing about the demise of their revered leader M Karunanidhi in Tamil Nadu.
Subramanian and Rajendran, who are in their late fifties, died of heart attack in Mayiladuthirai and Nagapattinam districts of the state.
Karunanidhi (94) breathed his last at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai after prolonged illness at 6.10 pm.
He was a hero for many as one of the prominent leaders of the Dravidian movement, which aimed at seeking equal rights for the depressed sections and women.
Karunanidhi’s letters to DMK cadres in party mouthpiece Murasoli and his autobiography-cum-commentary on contemporary politics Nenjukku Needhi, are the favourite reading material for his supporters.
Karunanidhi’s famous line “En uyirinum melana kazhaga udanpirappugaley (my dear brothers in party who are above my life),” in his unmistakable baritone, used to send DMK workers into raptures.
