Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on May 17 said he and his party will not require 15 days to win confidence vote, reiterating the confidence of the central leadership on winning the trust vote on the floor of the assembly.
“I do not think we need 15 days to prove majority, despite the governor giving us time. I am confident that those Congress MLAs lodged in a private resort outside Bengaluru, who have undergone mental torture and harassment, will vote with the government. We are in power and we will prove our majority,” said Yeddyurappa addressing party leaders and workers.
Attending a felicitation event after taking oath as the chief minister of Karnataka, Yeddyurappa said the Congress MLAs in the resort have been kept under “inhumane” circumstances.
“The Congress has seized the mobile phones of their MLAs and are not even allowing them to speak to their spouses,” he alleged.
