Patanjali only Indian entry at world food expo

HARIDWAR: Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Food and Herbal Park, in Haridwar will take part in the International Food Expo-World Food India 2017 that is being organized by the Union ministry of food processing at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi from November 3 to 5.
Over 40 countries have been invited to take part in the expo that will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will have a concluding address by President Ram Nath Kovind.
Patanjali’s Food Park, billed as the world’s largest and the country’s only operational food and herbal park, will be the only Indian entry at the expo in the food park category, sources said. “Food product specialists might be interested in knowing the secret behind our fast growth. Some of them might even want to visit Patanjali after the event,” said general secretary Acharya Balkrishna.
According to state horticulture department additional director R C Srivastava, state’s all departments related to food and their processing and existing major food processing industries will take part in the expo. The food segment will have dairy, cereals, fruits and vegetables, honey, mushroom, oil and oleoresin.
