Nitish to take Gandhian ideology to every door

Patna: Kumar inaugurated three-day Champaran Satyagraha centenary function, ahead of the official function in April to observe 100 years of Mahatama Gandhi’s launch of non-violent agitation against the British rule.
The Father of the Nation had launched the movement from Champaran to protest forced indigo plantation in 1917.
Addressing the function, Kumar said Gandhian ideology was relevant even today and his government would “knock every household” to make people aware of Gandhian values.
“Not more than 10 per cent of the new generation are sensitive towards Gandhian philosophy and hence there is a need to propagate it among the people,” he said.
Referring to attack on British Parliament, the chief minister said, “An environment of violence prevailed in the world hence Gandhian philosophy of non-violence holds extra relevance today.”
Tushar Gandhi, grandson of Mahatama Gandhi, and Gandhians from across the country and Nepal took part in today’s program organized by “Sarva Sewa Sangh”.
In his address, Tushar Gandhi praised Nitish Kumar for ordering total prohibition in the state.
“By ordering complete ban on alcohol, the CM has realized the dream of Bapu,” he said.
Swami Agnivesh, Medha Patkar, “waterman” Rajendra Singh, S.N Subba Rao, P.V Rajgopal and Mahadev Bidrohi were present at the program.
