Nine Bollywood films that could mint millions in 2017

If 2016 was a year of biopics at the all-important box-office with movies like ‘Neerja’, ‘zhar’, ‘Dangal’ and ‘Mahendra Singh Dhoni’, 2017 seems to be a year of sequels.
With the Yash Raj Films’ mega announcement of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ sequel blocking Christmas 2017, the list of most-anticipated movies of next year has become very interesting. While the films are still in production stage, we have listed some that could become potential blockbusters in the year ahead.
1. Kaabil
Release: January25
The movie has already received the right kind of hype, thanks to the nifty posters and teasers. Hrithik Roshan returns to the big-screen after ‘Mohenjo Daro’. And giving him company are Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy and Sonu Sood. Directed by Sanjay Gupta of ‘Kaante’ fame, this one has Yami and Hrithik playing visually-impaired characters. It could be a good start to the year if this revenge drama by Hrithik can set the cash registers ringing.
The movie is full of acting and emotion there is one message given by the Hrithik in this movie that is self-believe. With the help of self-believe a man can do everything as he does in spite of being blind. The story and action make this movie a must watch movie. The actors have performed really well in the movie.
2.Raees
Release: January26
After a successful 2016, thanks to ‘Dear Zindagi’, King Khan is back with ‘Raees’. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer has already made waves with a possible box-office clash with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’. Apart from SRK, this film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan. Directed by Rahul Dholakia of ‘Parzania’ fame, this is set in 1980s Gujarat and tells the story of a bootlegger, Raees Khan, whose business is eventually thwarted by a police officer. The film is loosely based on the life of criminal Abdul Latif.
Criticizing the prohibition of alcohol, prostitution and illegal drugs in Gujarat, this film unfolds the story of a cruel and clever bootlegger, whose business is highly challenged by a tough cop.
3.Badrinath Ki Dulhania
Release: March10
After working in ‘Student of the Year’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will be seen together again in the upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’.
Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and presented by Fox Star Studios, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is being helmed by Shashank Khaitan.
The film marks the second installment of a franchise that began with ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ which was a sleeper hit of 2014. ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ earned Rs. 49.09 cr and was one of the highest grossers of 2014.
4. Baahubali: The Conclusion
Release: April 28
The first installment grabbed a lot of attention for their larger-than-life fantasy-meets-fiction depiction. In this version, the plot revolves around the million-dollar question: Why did Katappa kill Baahubali? Prabhas returns as Baahubali/Shiva in this epic drama series which has already shattered many box-office records. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, this one is one of the most eagerly-awaited films of the year. ‘Bahubali- The Beginning’ earned a whopping Rs. 586.04 cr, the team will expect to better that, this time.
When two opposite ends unite the rod breaks in between. When Shiva, the son of Bahubali realizes his past from Kattappa, he seeks to find consensus to his question : Why did Kattapa kill his father? This, Bahubali- the Conclusion showcases the answer and its consequences on the Mahishmati Kingdom when its roots are stirred.
5. Robot 2.
Release: Mid 2017
The Thalaiva returns in this sequel to the popular ‘Robot’! Rajinikanth is the good guy – and giving him a tough time is our own Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar. Amy Jackson plays the female lead. The film will release in three languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. ‘Robot’, the first installment, earned Rs.195 crore.
6. Judwaa 2
Release: September 29
The film will be released in three languages: Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. With an estimated budget of Rs.400 crore, it is the most expensive Indian film till date.
After a span of two decades, ‘Judwaa’ will be back in a new form, with Varun Dhawan doing a . The film will be directed by David Dhawan who, incidentally, had also directed ‘Judwaa’.
The story of the film Judwaa 2 is yet to revealed by the makers. Varun Dhawan will be seen in double role in the film. It will be the first time Varun Dhawan to play a double role in his four-year career. As per the reports, the film will be shot in London, Thailand and Mumbai.
7. Dabangg 3
Release: Mid-2017
There is speculation doing the rounds that Dabangg 3 will be a prequel, mapping the rise of Chulbul Pandey as a police officer. The film may release on Eid 2017, as Salman prefers that time. The first installment roped in Rs. 145 cr in India and the second part earned Rs. 160 cr.
The third film of Dabangg franchise will show how Chulbul Pandey becomes Chulbul Pandey (the corrupt police officer). Dabangg 3 will be a prequel to Dabangg.
8. Rangoon
Release: February 24
Rangoon is an upcoming Bollywood romantic musical film which is being directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film features Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. It is a period film set during world war 2.
This historical backdrop film, the actors have altered their looks with Kangana donning a bob and Shahid and Saif sporting military staches. However, the two Bollywood hunks have never come together for a film. On the other hand, this is first time for Vishal Bhardwaj to work with Kangna Ranaut. She will play the role of Miss Julia a diva from ‘40s. She will be a women with a whip, a Marilyn Monroe-like haircut and a white stallion.
9. Tiger Zinda Hai
Releasedate: December 22
superstar has laid claim to Christmas 2017 with the announcement of a December 22 release for . The picture from is a sequel to the star’s 2012 smash Ek Tha Tiger and will reunite him with leading lady Katrina Kaif after five years. It also reteams him with Ali Abbas Zafar, who directed Khan’s Sultan last year to an $88M worldwide gross, making it the No. 3 biggest Bollywood title ever.
