Ireland offers free rail travel to Indian seniors

London: Senior citizens traveling from India to Ireland will now be able to travel free of cost on the Irish rail.
Prime Minister Brian Cowen has announced that the scheme for senior citizens aged 66 and above starts from 17th March on St Patrick’s Day. It will be valid up to 31st December 2010, a press release has said.
Senior citizens can enjoy unlimited travel by train using their golden trekker pass, it said.
The plan, which will be operational only in the Republic of Ireland for now, might later be extended to Northern Ireland.
