Bangkok: Coming as a massive Olympic booster, top seed Saina Nehwal tamed second seed and hosts’ Ratchnok Inthanon 19-21, 21-15, 21-10 in 66 minutes to clinch the women’s singles title in the Thailand Open GP Championship in Bangkok on June 10. This was the second GP title of the year for the world number five after her success in the Swiss Open earlier this year. “It was a good title win for me. I played well and won the final,’’ said Saina from Bangkok. Chief coach Pullela Gopichand was pleased with Saina’s performance. “I liked the way she fought back and won the title. She was slow to start but then got into a nice rhythm from the second game. She was in full flow and unstoppable in the third,’’ said Gopichand.
