Did China misuse science for Covid-19 outbreak?

Washington, May 26 (INN): Once again, the possibility of the coronavirus, which has caused a global pandemic, developed in Wuhan labs is in the air. Scientists and researchers have come up with several theories to support the possibility. Top US infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci has already made it clear that he is no longer convinced that the Covid-19 pandemic originated naturally
“I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out to the best of our ability what happened,” said Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease at a symposium on May 11.
Earlier, a study revealed that three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) had sought hospital care in November 2019, months before China disclosed the COVID-19 pandemic.
The United States has always believed several theories by researchers that the coronavirus outbreak has been the result of China’s misuse of science in a lab and has been working with the World Health Organization to go to the root of the situation.
A similar report was carried by an Australian newspaper in March that the workers from the Wuhan lab were hospitalized with symptoms similar to COVID more than a month before first cases were reported. That would make these workers the first cluster of cases rather than anyone associated with the Wuhan wet market.
While initially dismissed by many in the media and a joint study by China and the World Health Organization, the theory is being looked at once again. Scientists who had denounced the theory last year are now saying either that their minds have changed or that they want a fresh look at the material.
As usual, China has been denying such claims and has actually engaged in blocking a full investigation from taking place and continues to insist that such a leak is impossible. Besides, it cannot be ignored that China lied about what they knew about the virus in the early days and allowed it to spread.
On Sunday, China’s foreign ministry noted that a WHO-led team had concluded a lab leak was extremely unlikely after a visit in February to the virology institute.
“The US continues to hype the lab leak theory,” the ministry said in response to a request for comment by the Journal.
“Is it actually concerned about tracing the source or trying to divert attention?”
However, several times, it has been noted that still there are many links between the two labs and many questions without answers and countries should continue to discuss the connections between the two.
