China to work with India on climate change

Beijing: China on March 10 said it would work closely with India in future negotiations on climate change and is keen to step up cooperation with New Delhi in areas of forestry, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The two countries had on March 9 formally backed the Climate Change Accord hammered out in Copenhagen last year calling for voluntary cut in greenhouse gas emissions.
β€œIn future negotiations and cooperation on climate change, we will continue to be good partners. The government of India and China has signed an MOU enhancing our climate partnership,” Xie Zhenhua, top Chinese Climate negotiator, told a news conference here.
