A fashion tribute to a Mughal princess

Inspired by the daughter of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Abhi and Rahul presented their collection “Zeb-un-Nissa” on the final day of the LFW.

She was a patron of the arts, a poet and had many lovers.

Designer duo Abhi and Rahul chose Mughal princess Zeb-un-Nissa as their muse for the latest line from their label “Abhirahul.”

The result was high-couture bridals that drew inspiration from both the Mughal court and eveningwear and modeling the showstopper was actress Anjana Sukhani. Take a look.

First on the ramp is this saffron and plush red anarkali, teamed with churidaar pants and embellished in gold.

Next we have a play on crimson once again, with this kurta ending in blushing peach wisps showing off tasteful embroidery.

Alesia Raut makes an entrance in a lovely orange-cream drape.

Nicole Faria looks coy in another stunning sari that fades from ivory to red, with creeping, glimmering vines creating a lovely effect.

This rich drape with fuschia thread-work and matching gold jacket gets a double thumbs-up.

Swirling to the ankles, another fading strawberry ethnic ensemble takes our breath away.

Muted brown embellishments go well with this fuschia churidaar kurta.

A lehenga in the traditional colors and resplendent with embroidery makes its presence felt on the runway.

Anjana Sukhani is all smiles as she steps out in the designers’ showstopping number.

Abhi and Rahul flank Anjana as they take their turn on the catwalk.
