Consulate office telecasts PBD video  presentation to members of the community

Atlanta, GA: While addressing an impressive gathering on the eve of 2017 Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Nagesh Singh, Consul General of India in Atlanta exhorted Indian community here to contribute not only for charitable activities but also contribute not just through technology, but also commercial law, intellectual property rights etc., that useful to every section of society back in India.
A large number of Indian American Community attended the event. Welcoming the gathering, Consul DV Singh in charge of community affairs explained the details of PBD 2017. The celebration at consulate included addresses by the Consul General Nagesh Singh, Consul community affairs, as well as community leaders. Also renditions of both American and Indian national anthems and classical dances were performed at the event.
In his address,Consul General Nagesh Singh informed that Indian missions abroad were asked to hold Pravasi Bharatiya Divas throughout the world when Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated in India. Consul General Singh exhorted audience to go beyond charities as India is needed special knowledge and latest technology. He said, Indian Americans should contribute to India not just through technology, but also commercial law, intellectual property rights; not just science and technology to strengthen India’s development.
Later, a short film on PBD as well as the speech of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on PBD Conference, Bengaluru was shown to the audience.
